How to get the service software running — the recommended virtual service laptop, plus the older manual install kept here for reference.

Paul Silcock created a virtual machine with all of the service software loaders pre-configured. A good internet connection and temporary admin rights are required to set it up. I recommend opening the procedure on your mobile phone as well as your laptop.

Installation directly on laptop

Download the service software loader from Pim.Web by filtering the document type to “Service Software” when navigating to c303 or e503.
Request temporary admin rights on ROSE by searching “Admin”.
Download 7-Zip through Software Center and open the .ISO file using 7-Zip.
Copy the files onto the desktop and install SSW with temporary admin rights by running the setup executable.
Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change Adapter Settings → right-click the ethernet adapter → Properties → Internet Protocol Version 4 → Properties, then set the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway to the values for your instrument.
